The Business of Online Search: The iBusiness Times Ranks Top 5

Internet is fast becoming the centralised area for work and play around the world. Millions of users flood the web 24/7, while website owners pitch to get in on part of the traffic. The iBusiness Times ranks the Top 5 search engines on the web, and justifies its choice.

1. Wolfram Alpha I know many expected Google to be in this spot, but this is ranking by convenience not establishment, and not revenue. Wolfram Alpha has claimed number one for its smart technology, allowing users to interact with the search engine like with an actual human being. Samsung and Apple have used Wolfram Alpha in S-Voice and Siri, as well as smaller firms such as "Maluuba". Wolfram Alpha is a search engine that will definitely be climbing gracefully up the Alexa charts.

2. DuckDuckGo Again, not Google! DuckDuckGo is a simple search engine, which does not throw every last link at you like there's no tomorrow. No spam either, it simply gives you the results, by arranging them in an order that is most likely needed by the majority of searches in its database. It does not track users or store any data. It is simple, and useful.

3. Google NOW is Google! The iBusiness Times ranks Google third because it is too general. Wolfram Alpha gives me specific results, based exactly on my "conversational" input. For example, I need to know the largest restaurant in the world. The largest restaurant business in the world. Here were my results:

Google has simply given me a couple of pages, and it is for me to choose which restaurant I want to name the largest.

Now, Wolfram Alpha, categorises it into business, then market capitalisation then shows me the largest and then the 4 below it... it gives me specific results which I can use.
However, Google is ranked in the top 5 for a reason. It has the ability to give you millions of sources of information on the most obscure things possible. It has so many other features, be it maps, be it blogging, be it shopping, Google has it all!

4. Yahoo! Yahoo comes fourth! In previous articles here on The iBusiness Times, we have talked about how Yahoo is slipping and it has had a hard time with difficulties in staff etc. However, it is still a search engine, and Yahoo always looks in its own trusted databases before delivering. It also uses Google's technique of scouring the web for all related items, and of course has the image search, news system and many more!

5. Bing Now last, but definitely not least is Bing. The iBusiness Times has ranked Bing at 5th, as it is still upcoming, and has not burst with its full potential! Bing is rapidly growing still, and will no doubt expand much larger, and obtain higher places on this chart!

Well that is our ranking of the top 5 search engines for now, but of course this will change!
