Why Apple beats Microsoft in business, while Bill Gates remains the richest

Quite a common thought among people is:

"How come Bill Gates is the richest man, but Apple is still bigger than Microsoft, but Steve Jobs wasn't as high in the charts."

Simple. Steve Jobs got money from Apple, but pumped it all back into the business. He did not put it all into that new Bentley (not to say Bill Gates does that), he put it all back into Apple, pushing Apple to the top of the charts, and fame and reputation for Jobs came naturally from that. 

Bill Gates got the money, but instead of building his business, he deflected it all into two things:

1. Himself

2. Charity

Yes, Charity. Gates spends billions in charities, and is trying his greatest to abolish issues due to poverty or lack of money.
